Refill a Drained Cooling System Under Vacuum<\/h3>\n

A vacuum purge and refill kit for antifreeze changes: it seals the radiator filler opening, pulls a vacuum on the drained cooling system, then lets that vacuum draw fresh coolant in from a container. An air supply is needed to create the vacuum.<\/p>\n

    How to Use<\/h4>\n
      \n
    1. Drain the system<\/b>Drain as much of the old coolant from the radiator as possible.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Seal the filler opening<\/b>Seal the cooling system filler opening with the adapter and lock the tool’s quick coupler onto it.<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Set the valves<\/b>Open the air valve and keep the coolant valve closed.<\/span><\/li>\n
    4. Pull a vacuum<\/b>Connect the air supply and let the tool draw a vacuum on the system, then close the air valve and stop the air flow.<\/span><\/li>\n
    5. Prime the coolant hose<\/b>Attach the coolant hose and submerge its free end in fresh coolant, making sure the hose is full of coolant.<\/span><\/li>\n
    6. Refill<\/b>Open the coolant valve and let the vacuum pull coolant into the system until the flow stops.<\/span><\/li>\n
    7. Top up<\/b>Check the coolant level and add coolant as needed to reach the proper level.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Steps follow the standard vacuum purge-and-refill procedure for this type of tool. Valve layout can differ between kits, so follow the markings on your tool.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n
