Operation Safety Precautions
1. Handling of Engine Oil
When handling engine oil, there is a risk of skin and eye damage. Be sure to wear protective gloves, protective clothing, and safety goggles.
2. Storage of Engine Oil
It is strictly prohibited to pour engine oil into beverage bottles. Ingesting engine oil can lead to poisoning risks.
3. Risks during Engine Operation
When the engine is running, the vehicle may start on its own, potentially causing accidents. Working in the vicinity during engine startup or operation poses risks of abrasions and burns. Therefore, make sure to secure the vehicle to prevent it from moving on its own. Also, wear tight fitting and enclosed work clothes and avoid touching high temperature or rotating parts.
4. Risks of Vehicle Lifting
There is a risk of the vehicle slipping or falling off the lift, which may cause fatalities. When using a vehicle lift, align the vehicle properly between the lift columns and place four support plates at the lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
Instructions for Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement
Oil Filter Removal
1. Warm up the engine until the coolant temperature reaches at least 80°C.
2. Remove the front engine trim panel if you can't access the threaded cap of the oil filter.
3. Loosen the threaded cap of the oil filter. Use a socket to do this (the specific method depends on the model), and then lift it out of the oil filter housing until engine oil can flow out from both the oil filter and the oil filter housing.
4. Separate the trim panel at the bottom of the engine compartment.
5. Remove the drain plug and then drain the engine oil.
Oil Filter Installation
1. Replace the sealing ring of the drain plug.
2. Screw in the drain plug and connect it to the bottom of the oil pan.
3. Install the trim panel at the bottom of the engine compartment.
4. Remove the threaded cap of the oil filter.
5. Replace the oil filter element.
6. Replace the sealing ring.
7. Install the threaded cap of the oil filter. Use a socket to loosen the threaded cap of the oil filter (the method depends on the model) and install the cover of the oil filter housing.
8. Add motor oil. Only use motor oil that meets SAE 0W 40 or 5W standards. Otherwise, the engine may be damaged.
Inspection
1. Run the engine until it reaches operating temperature, then check for leaks. The coolant temperature should be at least 80°C. In case of any leakage, identify the cause and make corrections.
2. Shut off the engine.
3. Pull out the sealing plug from the oil dipstick tube.
4. Use a special tool for the oil dipstick to check the engine oil level. Make corrections if necessary. Insert the oil dipstick into the oil dipstick tube until it reaches the limit position and wait for at least 3 seconds.
Installation
1. Insert the sealing plug into the oil measuring tube.
2. If the front engine trim panel has been removed, install it.
