This tester is super easy to use. I tested several spark plugs from generator, V6 Gas Motor, and a lawnmower. Simply pop-in either one or two plugs, close the clear acrylic cover, and turn the knob up. It has an adjustment knob to take it from 0-600 RPM. You can visibly see the arcing and verify it’s working. It was fun to compare two different brand plugs to see their spark patterns. This gives you a piece of mind and is an excellent buy at this price.

There’s not much to say; it’s much more convenient than just eyeballing it the old-fashioned way. With this, we can check the spark plugs’ spark and see if they’re worn or not. I used to check them with the vehicle’s own spark plug wire, without screwing the plug in, just to see the spark. But with this accessory, we don’t need the vehicle; we can simply test any spark plugs we want, sitting comfortably with a beer. It’s not really necessary, but it’s a convenient and easier way to check them out.
