Delivered faster than expected. Well-packaged, box in good condition. Product matches description, high quality, bright light, 360-degree foldable, takes still photos and videos. Very clear full HD image quality. The manual says not to use medically, but shouldn’t be a problem in the hands of a doctor. The camera cable has a diameter of 6.5 mm; if it could be reduced to 5.0 mm, it would sell very well.

Good quality, but check your diesel glow plug hole size.

Very sturdy unit. The screen is nice and bright. However, just a warning for other diesel mechanics: the camera head fits perfectly fine down standard petrol spark plug holes, but it was just a tiny fraction too wide to fit down the glow plug hole of a 2.0 TDI VW engine I was working on. I had to pull an injector instead to get the camera in. Great for everything else though, so 4 stars.

The SVB305 pairs a two-way articulating probe with its own display, so you can inspect engines, pipes and wiring without a phone and save photos or video to internal storage. The IP67 rating covers the probe only.

How to Use

  1. Define the targetIdentify the symptom, entry point and surface, and confirm the probe and viewing range suit the path.
  2. Check the equipmentInspect tip and cable, charge the unit, test steering and lighting, then remove the camera protective cover.
  3. Prepare the vehicleIsolate moving and live parts and let the inspection area cool.
  4. Guide and illuminateInsert gently while watching the image, using steering and lighting to bring the target into focus range.
  5. Record findingsCapture the target from useful angles and note the component, entry point and viewing direction.
  6. Withdraw and storeReturn the tip, withdraw gently, check the probe, then clean, dry and store it.

Good to Know

Caution
  • IP67 applies to the probe, not the screen or handle; keep the main unit dry and do not assume oil, fuel or solvent compatibility.
  • Let the engine cool before inserting the probe; the heat alarm is a protection event, not a working-temperature rating.
  • Never force a bend or pull harder against resistance; return the tip with the steering control before withdrawing.
Care
  • If the image is unclear, adjust distance and brightness, clean the lens and try another angle; a reflection or shadow can look like a defect.

Handy for cars and home HVAC, wish taking photos was easier

I’ve used this more times than I thought I would. Looked down my spark plug holes, found a dropped 10mm socket under the intake manifold, and even used it to inspect some ductwork in my house. The LEDs are adjustable which helps reduce glare on shiny metal. I gave it 4 stars because the button to snap a photo is a little stiff, and you sometimes move the camera by accident when you press it.
