Compare Two Spark Plugs Against a Known Reference
The SPT301 fires one reference plug and two test plugs side by side under a transparent cover at an adjustable 200–9000 rpm simulated rate. Results are a relative in-air comparison, not proof of spark performance under cylinder pressure or load.

Good to Know
Caution
- Plug voltage can reach tens of thousands of volts. Do not touch plugs during operation, and switch off before inserting, removing or repositioning them.
- Stop using the tester if wiring is aged or damaged, and keep the safety cover intact.
Care
- Confirm size and fit before testing unusual plug types.
- Confirm suspected ignition faults on the vehicle; the bench result is a relative check.
- Store in a dry, ventilated place away from heat, humidity and corrosive liquids.
