Test the Battery, Track Key-Off Drain and Print the Result
The AUTOOL BT880 checks 12 V and 24 V lead-acid batteries, cranking and charging, monitors total key-off current through a dedicated leakage clamp, and prints results for the work order. It does not test lithium batteries and does not charge.

Hauptmerkmale
-
Battery Health Test
Checks voltage, CCA, resistance, SOC, SOH and overall condition based on the selected battery type and rating standard.
-
Cranking and Charging Tests
Evaluate starting performance and charging status to help diagnose common vehicle electrical faults.
-
Maximum Load Test
Observes system voltage with the engine running and electrical loads switched on. It is not a traditional high-current resistive load test.
-
Leakage Current Monitoring
The negative-side leakage clamp observes total current and records its waveform, so you can decide when circuit isolation is needed.
-
Voltage and Current Monitor
The V/A monitor shows voltage and current waveforms to reveal fluctuation during inspection.
-
Ambient Temperature Sensor
Displays ambient temperature as context for hot or cold results; the tester does not automatically compensate the result.
-
Data Review and Printing
Stores previous test data and battery voltage values for comparison over time, and prints results on thermal paper with no ink required.

Anwendung
- Select the test modeChoose battery, cranking, charging system, maximum load, V/A monitor, leakage, data review or printing.
- Connect the clampsAttach the red and black clamps by polarity; reverse-polarity protection does not replace a correct connection.
- Choose type and standardSelect the battery type and the rating standard and value printed on the battery label.
- Monitor leakage when neededDisconnect the negative terminal as instructed, fit the leakage clamp to the vehicle negative bus, let the vehicle reach its sleep state and watch the current waveform.
- Review or printCheck stored records or print the results for the work order or customer.

Good to Know
Caution
- Lead-acid batteries only. Choose the BT960 if lithium battery testing is required.
- The BT880 does not charge batteries; use separate charging equipment when charging is needed.
- A leakage reading shows total current only. Finding the responsible circuit requires a separate sleep-state and fuse/circuit isolation procedure.
Care
- Treat CCA, SOC and health values as algorithm-based indicators; repeat unexpected results after checking terminal contact and charge state.
- Test individual 12 V batteries separately when the vehicle procedure requires it.
- Replace the thermal paper roll when printing becomes unclear or the paper runs out.
