Release or Apply a Stuck Electronic Parking Brake Directly
The BT10 runs from a 10–14 V service battery and drives a confirmed EPB motor in either direction, so a locked parking brake can be released for towing, workshop moves or rear brake work. It is a temporary actuation tool, not a diagnostic or repair tool.
- 10–14 V DC
- Bidirectional Motor Drive
- ~1 s Auto Stop
- 5 A Replaceable Fuse
Key Features
-
Release and Apply Control
A rocker switch drives the EPB motor in either direction to disengage the brake or re-engage it after a move.
-
Works When the System Will Not
When a sensor, control module, wiring or power fault keeps the EPB locked, the BT10 actuates the motor directly.
-
Timed Output
Each apply or release command stops after about one second.
-
Layered Protection
Reverse-polarity protection, overcurrent control, a power-on self-check with green status light, and a replaceable fast-blow fuse.
-
Less Force on Brake Parts
Avoids dragging a car with the brake applied or forcing apart caliper components during pad and caliper service.

How to Use
- Check the setupPrepare a fully charged service battery, confirm 10–14 V DC and check that the fuse is intact.
- Connect service powerRed clamp to positive, black to negative; the indicator lights when power is normal.
- Connect the EPB motorWith the vehicle secured, connect the output lead to the confirmed EPB drive terminals.
- Pulse release or brakeSelect the direction on the rocker switch, watch the caliper, and let go once it reaches its end position.
- Verify and diagnoseConfirm the brake state, secure the vehicle, and continue diagnosis with a suitable scan tool.

Good to Know
Caution
- Wrong terminals or polarity can drive the actuator the opposite way. Stop at once if the response is not what you expect and recheck the connection.
- Replace the fuse only with the same type and rating; never fit a higher-rated fuse.
- Do not connect or disconnect with the ignition on or the engine running.
- For trained or qualified personnel. Secure the vehicle against movement before working on the brake.
Care
- Keep the unit away from water, heat, oil, sharp edges and moving parts.
FAQ
Is the BT10 a permanent fix for an EPB fault?
No. It releases or applies the brake temporarily; the fault still needs diagnosis and repair with a compatible scan tool.
What is the difference between braking and release mode?
Braking engages the EPB to hold the vehicle; release disengages it so the vehicle can be moved or serviced.
