Blast and Recover Intake Carbon in One Workflow
The HTS518 cleans accessible intake ports and intake-valve backs with compressor-driven walnut blasting while its integrated vacuum collects loosened deposits and media. Walnut media and an external compressor are required and not included; it is not for injectors, throttle bodies, cylinders or combustion chambers.
- 23 Intake Adapters
- Integrated Vacuum Recovery
- Built-In Dust Filter
- Rear Storage Box
- Telescoping Handle
Key Features
-
Cleaning with Recovery
External air drives the walnut media while the integrated vacuum path collects carbon and spent media.
-
Adapters for Varied Port Shapes
Choose the adapter profile for the port, then confirm fit and seal on the exact engine.
-
Filtration and Media Reuse
The filter separates recovered media from carbon residue. Product guidance gives 5–10 uses as a reference when the media stays dry, unclumped and uncontaminated.
-
Selectable Modes
High/low and low-speed modes, used according to the HTS518 manual.
-
Mobile Storage Layout
A rear storage box, three-section telescoping handle and 360° casters keep adapters with the unit between bays.

How to Use
- Load mediaAdd the manual-specified amount of dry walnut-shell media.
- Connect gun and hoseSecure the blasting gun and keep its nozzle within the recovery path.
- Prepare the portClose the target intake valve and isolate other openings as the vehicle procedure requires.
- Connect air and powerUse a dry, filtered compressor and the correct grounded power version.
- Blast and recoverClean one port at a time; blasting takes about 1–3 minutes per port depending on buildup.
- Recover and inspectVacuum remaining media, then inspect with good lighting or a borescope until none is visible.
- Reassemble and verifyRefit parts and complete leak checks and diagnostic and functional checks.

Good to Know
Caution
- Requires an external compressor with stable, dry, filtered air and enough continuous airflow; tank size or peak pressure alone is not enough.
- Never blast a port until its intake valve is fully closed and other openings are isolated.
- The adapters are not universal; confirm engine, port geometry and seal.
- Recover and inspect all residual media before startup rather than relying on the engine to clear it.
- Walnut-shell dust may trigger allergies; wear eye and respiratory protection, ventilate and follow the media SDS.
Care
- Clean based on inspection or diagnosis, not a fixed mileage interval; results in power or fuel economy are not guaranteed.
