Trace Low-Pressure Leaks With Smoke and a Pressure Gauge
The SDT60 runs from a 12 V battery, uses its built-in pump instead of shop air, and pairs visible smoke with a pressure gauge for EVAP, intake, exhaust, fuel-tank and line-fitting checks on 12 V cars, motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles, light trucks and speedboats.
- Built-In Pump
- manomètre
- Sortie <10 psi
- Unité principale 1.6 kg
- Coupure en cas de surchauffe à 75°C
Key Features
-
Contrôles de fuite guidés par manomètre
Watch pressure changes in the test path to judge whether there is no obvious leak, a small leak or a more severe one, then follow the smoke to the source.
-
Remplissage rapide de fumée
Smoke starts within about 5 seconds of pressing the smoke switch, and the connected line fills in about 30 seconds.
-
Aucune alimentation en air externe requise
The built-in pump supplies the test airflow, keeping setup simple in the workshop, on mobile jobs or at home.
-
Moteur et carrosserie pris en charge
Works as an intake and engine smoke tester across intake manifold, throttle, crankcase and oil seals, and also checks exhaust, EVAP, fuel tank, intercooler air, coolant tank, line fittings and vehicle sealing.
-
Compact et portable
The 1.6 kg unit is easy to carry and store, and hangs on its hook in tight engine bays.
-
Protection contre la chaleur et le froid
Shuts off automatically at about 75°C and operates down to -20°C.

How to Use
- Ajoutez l’huile de testFill 10–15 mL of baby oil or liquid paraffin; do not overfill.
- Raccorder la conduite de testDisconnect the line to be tested and connect it to the smoke output hose, with the detector near the test area.
- AllumerClamp to a 12 V DC battery, confirm the hose connections are secure, and switch on.
- Vérifiez l’absence de fuitesOnce the line fills with smoke, look for escaping smoke and watch the gauge; use a headlamp if needed.
- Confirmez et testez à nouveauCheck that the outlet is not an intentional opening, repair the verified leak, and repeat the same test.

Good to Know
Attention
- Do not run the unit continuously for more than 8 minutes; let it rest between tests. If it shuts off from overheating, let it cool before restarting.
- The round metal housing gets hot in use; avoid touching it directly.
- Never refill testing oil while the unit is running.
- Stay within the pressure allowed by the vehicle or component service procedure. The gauge monitors the test; it is not used to set or raise pressure.
- Testing oil may not be included; check your package and use liquid paraffin or baby oil if it is not.
Entretien
- When refilling, pour out the remaining oil first and add about 10 mL of fresh testing oil.
- If no smoke appears, recheck access, isolation, valve state and smoke delivery before moving to functional diagnosis or another test method.
